I joined CrossFit Central in October 2020, searching for a community to help ground me in a health and wellness routine. Working remotely from home, I valued the opportunity to get out, engage with friends and supportive coaches, and train my body. It made a significant difference in balancing work, life, and health. Even though I’ve moved further away from the gym since joining, I keep coming back for the incredible community, even four years later.
When I first joined CrossFit Central, I was particularly focused on the emotional and mental health benefits of being part of a fitness community and maintaining a consistent routine. Those benefits have been profound and are now essential to my lifestyle. Over the past year, however, my focus has shifted more towards physical goals, such as learning higher-level skills, achieving new personal records, and pursuing my peak level of fitness.
Since starting at CrossFit Central, I’ve seen remarkable physical results. I’ve gained over 7 pounds of skeletal muscle mass and reduced my body fat percentage from 9.4% to 3%. Over the past year, I’ve also achieved significant skill milestones, including learning double-unders, performing my first ring muscle-ups, and surpassing all my personal lifting records by at least 20 pounds.
Beyond the physical achievements, the impact on my mental and emotional well-being has been equally transformative. The habits of investing in my health and challenging myself with new physical goals have positively influenced my family life and professional performance. Regular exercise has provided me with a calm and stable mind, while the process of setting and achieving goals fosters a growth mindset that extends to other areas of my life.
