What initially drew you to CrossFit Central?
I have been a member of CrossFit Central for over eight years. Before I joined I was a runner, I was running marathons back then. I would run by the gym every day. I initially joined CrossFit because I was tired of running marathons, and wanted to incorporate weightlifting into my workout. I was also attracted by what I learned about CrossFit while studying the Paleo Diet. Before joining CrossFit Central I felt good, but I was soon to learn that I needed much more mobility and strength. When I first joined I was unable to squat at all. I couldn’t do a front squat or an overhead squat without falling over.

What results have you seen over the last year?

Over the past year I have continued to see gains in strength. I have a knee injury and CrossFit has made that knee stronger. It’s made it more flexible, and it hurts much less than it used to. Also I think exercise, and high intensity exercise, is one of the best things for getting rid of stress.

 

This year has been challenging to say the least, did the community or your workouts help you in any way during the pandemic?

During the pandemic I learned how important guided exercise as community exercise are to me. I did not perform well on my own. It's good to have a coach reminding you to stop resting.

What keeps you coming back to CrossFit Central?

I keep coming back to CrossFit because of the quality of the workouts, the quality of the equipment and i enjoys the people. I do not think I would ever do another Thruster again if I worked out alone. the coaches and the community are essential.
