BRIDGET
I first came to the gym in October 2018. I live near CrossFit Central and saw people working out every day. I was curious about it but too intimidated to try it. I discovered that several parents at my children's school were members of CrossFit Central and after talking with them, I learned how much they enjoyed it. They spoke highly of the workouts, the community and the coaches, so when bring-a-friend week came around in October 2018, I decided to give it a try. I went three times that week and was hooked! By the end of the week, I had signed up for a membership.
Most of my adult life, I have done some form of regular exercise. I have done pilates, yoga, bar classes, spin classes, HIIT classes, bootcamps, running, etc.. You name it, I've tried it. And while I enjoyed those forms of exercise, I never felt like my overall fitness changed.
Since joining CrossFit Central, I have seen amazing results. I have gained muscle, lost fat, improved my endurance and fine-tuned my nutrition. I was 40 when I started at CrossFit Central and am in better shape now than I was in my 20's and 30's. Prior to starting CrossFit, I had never touched a barbell and couldn't do a pull-up. I can do things now that I never dreamed I could do - pull-ups, push-ups, gymnastics moves, and olympic weight lifting.
I am more confident and mentally tougher since starting CrossFit. There is something really empowering about lifting heavy weights and completing a difficult WOD!
The community at CrossFit Central is truly is special. I have made so many wonderful friends. Because my work schedule can vary, I workout in the early morning classes, the women's class, and the afternoon/evening classes. In all of those classes, I have gotten to know some amazing people and have made lifelong friends.
The workouts also keep me coming back because they are constantly changing and are always challenging. No matter the workout, there is always something I can improve.
Last but definitely not least, the coaches are top notch! They not only talk-the-talk, they walk-the-walk. They care about your progress and want you to achieve your fitness goals. They are also really fun people (and crazy fit)!
